Rita Kop

My name is Rita Kop and I work as Research Council Officer for the National Research Council of Canada, Institute of Information Technology, Learning and Collaborative Technologies Group, where I research Personal Learning Environments.

I am away from Swansea University in the UK for three years to do this. In Swansea I was a lecturer in the Department of Adult Continuing Education and apart from research and teaching my remit was to widen participation in Higher Education through ‘reaching in’ activities of working with University departments in developing progression routes for non-traditional students. Prior to this I have managed a number of large Widening Participation Projects in South West Wales and the Valleys. These projects were dynamic collaborations between the department and community partners in South West Wales. I developed the MA in Lifelong Learning programme in the department.
